About Us
The Department of Chemistry, Nagaland University was
established in 1997 at Lumami, Zunheboto district, and has since grown into a centre for
advanced learning and research. With a faculty strength of eight, the Department offers both
M.Sc. (intake capacity-27) and Ph.D. programme. The Department continuously updates its PG and
Ph.D. syllabi to align with contemporary academic developments. Research is a key focus, with 31
Ph.D. degrees awarded so far and 40 scholars currently pursuing their doctoral research,
supported by various fellowships such as DST-INSPIRE and NFST, along with the UGC-Non-NET
Fellowship for non-funded scholars.

ICCMR, 2026
The International Conference on Chemistry in Multidisciplinary Research (ICCMR-2026) is designed to bring together scientists and academicians to reflect on the evolving role of chemistry in addressing global challenges and promoting interdisciplinary collaborations. It aspires to support the vision of a globally relevant, research-driven education system that prepares students and researchers to tackle complex, real-world challenges. Chemistry is central to achieving many United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as clean water, affordable and clean energy, food security, and good health.
